British Air Transport Auxiliary
Margaret (Peggy) Lennox Drown Peggy Lennox applied for the Air Transport Auxiliary at age 36. She
held a Commercial license and an instructor's rating with over 1200
hours of logged flight time when Jackie Cochran recruited her. Peggy
was a divorcee with no children at the time of her application. She
was an active Ninety-Nine and well acquainted with Cochran, then President
of the group. Peggy traveled to England with the fourth group of American
women arriving in June of 1942. She was in service with the ATA until
December of 1945. |
